From basements and kitchen tables to wherever this is
Hey, Carl! wasn't built in a boardroom. It was built between homeschool lessons and snack breaks.
The name isn't a gimmick. It's Grandpa Carl. While I never got to meet the guy, I grew up with his name as well as Carlene, mostly called Carly, Carlos, Carls, Charlie - and somewhere in all those nicknames, I learned that a name carries personality. That stuck.
I started Hey, Carl! with a paintbrush, a camera, and two kids at the kitchen table. The whole point was to build something that fit around life, not the other way around. Two VIP days a week was the capacity, so the whole business had to work within that. And it did.
This isn't my first biz, either. Since 2010, I've been turning bold ideas into brands that creative entrepreneurs genuinely love showing up for. The kitchen table's still involved as are the Oreos.
